Le "cut-up", utilisé par Joachim Regout dans ses textes, est "une technique littéraire aléatoire, où un texte se trouve découpé au hasard puis réarrangé pour produire un texte nouveau. De manière générale, elle est utilisée pour produire une alternative à la lecture traditionnelle et linéaire.
L’origine du concept peut être attribué aux Dadaistes des années 1920, mais il a surtout été développé à partir de la fin des années 1950 et popularisé par l’auteur William S. Burroughs. Depuis, le cut-up s’utilise dans diverses disciplines et contextes."
